| This study evaluated the nutritional characteristics of BMR mutant and normal sorghum genotypes, eleven BMR mutants and nine normal. Seeds were sown in a randomized block design with three blocks, in which each genotype was a treatment. The nutritional characteristics were analyzed at 42 days of regrowth after the first cut, determined for DM, EE, ash, CP, NDIN, NIDA, NDF, ADF, NFC, CT, HCEL, CEL and NGLs. Regarding DM, EE, ash, NDIN, NIDA, NDF, FDA and HCEL, there were no differences between genotypes. As for CP, there were differences, with mean levels ranging from 9.77% for BR001AXTX2785bmr to 16.45% for BR001AxTX2784. | It is estimated that 60% of the area of cultivated pasture, in the Brazilian Savannah, is degraded or in process of degradation, due to, among other causes, the lack of nitrogen. The Stylosanthes genus is the legume which has the greater number of cultivars used in tropical pastures, however, its seeds have characteristics which can difficult the formation of an adequate stand of plants on pasture. In this research the aim was to evaluate the effects of priming in the speed and uniformity of the Stylosanthes capitata, S. macrocephala and S. guianensis seeds germination. | Alfalfa weevil (Hypera postica Gyllenhal.) control is traditionally based on the use of chemical insecticides. Due to the side effects of these compounds, there are many motivations for the use of integrated control methods, which may include the use of biopesticides (microbial and botanical). The result of the effect of seven doses of the tested biopesticides (500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 and 3500 ppm) under laboratory conditions indicated that the insecticides Azadiractin® (1859.971 ppm) and Biobit® (2000.57 ppm) were of the highest, while Basiokara® (3178.697 ppm) and Naturalis® (2973.246 ppm) were of the lowest lethality. | The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical composition of leaves of maniçoba (Manihot sp.) according to their development stage and their relationship with the soil characteristics. For this purpose, plants in their natural growth areas in the semiarid region of Paraíba State, Brazil, were sampled.
